Woman expresses desire to marry from village where women are forbidden to cheat

A Nigerian woman has expressed her desire to marry from a village where cultural traditions prohibit women from cheating, warning that any husband of hers must tread carefully.

The story was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @TheBeninBlogger, who posted a video of the woman explaining her reasons.

According to her, in the village she desires to marry from, if a woman cheats on her husband, the man dies as a consequence.

She explained that she finds the custom appealing because it would give her leverage in marriage.

She added that any man who intends to marry her should be very watchful, since his life would rest in her hands under such conditions.

In her words: “Do you know the village I want to marry from? That village that prohibits women from cheating, because if you cheat, your husband will die. You people should link me, hook me up, I want to marry from that village so that my husband’s life is in my hand.”

“The moment he messes up, I’ll just use one as an experiment. If you’re coming to me as my husband and you know very well that if I cheat, you will die, respect yourself, because the moment you throw one leg, I’ll throw one, two, three, and the next thing.”

The video has since gone viral, drawing mixed reactions online. While some found her statement humorous, others criticized the idea as extreme and unsettling.
