WHY SHOULDN'T WE BLAME OURSELVES WHEN THINGS GO WRONG?

Self-blaming often occurs when we feel responsible for a negative outcome.

If every outcome were in our hands, we would never let anything go wrong. Sometimes things don’t take the right turn and we feel disappointed. The disappointment with ourselves can be even greater if we end up hurting someone, damaging our relationship, or losing someone. We wish that we could turn back time and make things better.

Although we can't change things, we need to feel satisfied that our intentions were right, and we wanted the best for everyone. What we can do is apologise, rectify ourselves, support those who may have been hurt and ensure that we do not repeat that mistake.
