Wayne Rooney pays sweet tribute to wife Coleen in I’m A Celeb as he battles to save football job

WAYNE Rooney has paid a sweet tribute to his wife Coleen who is currently in the I’m A Celeb jungle.

The Wag, 38, who is in the running to become the next Queen of the Jungle, has been married to footballer Wayne for 16 years.

Coleen met Wayne at age 12 in Croxteth, a suburb of Liverpool, and they began dating when they were 16, with them having been wed since 2008.

And it seems that the couple’s relationship is still going strong, with Wayne sharing posts about his wife while she stars in this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in Australia.

Last night, after the results were unveiled that saw Maura Higgins and Barry McGuigan get sent home following a public vote, Wayne took to Instagram to swoon over his wife.

Gushing over his wife’s success in the jungle and urging fans to vote for her so she has a chance of becoming this year’s Queen of the Jungle, Wayne took to his Instagram stories.

Sharing a snap of Coleen in her jungle attire, Wayne wrote: “She’s done unbelievable and got a lot further than she thought she would.

“We’re proud of her and want to see her go all the way now!

“Please vote to keep Coleen in the jungle. Five free votes on the I’m A Celeb app.”

WAYNE’S FIGHT TO SAVE FOOTBALL JOB

This comes amid reports that Wayne’s TV documentary looks set to be scrapped as he fights to save his job at Plymouth Argyle.

Wayne took over the Pilgrims in the summer but has faced a poor run of results since being at the helm.

And now Wayne faces his TV documentary being axed, which is supposed to be charting his ascent in the world of managing.

Yesterday we reported that a TV insider said: “The whole point of the documentary was to celebrate his move from player to becoming a manager.

“But obviously if that ends up being more of a horror show then the creators, or the Rooneys themselves, may pull the plug on the project.”

WAYNE AND COLEEN’S FOUR KIDS

Currently, two of Coleen and Wayne’s kids are enjoying a holiday in Australia while they wait for their mum to come out.

Coleen and Wayne share four kids together, 15-year-old Kai and 11-year-old Klay, who both decided to stay in the UK; and Kit, eight, and Cass, six, who are in Australia with their grandparents.

COLEEN Rooney has revealed the embarrassing habit hubby Wayne reckons will annoy her I’m A celebrity campmates.

She’s usually preened and perfect – but the WAG has confessed she snores.

Coleen said: “I didn’t think I snored, but Wayne says I snore.

“Not continuously though – just every now and again.

“I have been in the public eye for over 20 years now and people take what they want from it.

“I do think people will get a better idea of what kind of person I am.”

In an interview before going into camp, Coleen said: “My two youngest ones are coming over.

“They all had the option but the two older ones decided that they would stay at home to continue with school and football.

“I think I said when you come you’ll have to bring your work with you, and they would be missing some football tournaments, so they quickly changed their minds!”

Sources previously said mum-of-four Coleen, wife of footie legend Wayne, 39, would be a “blubbering mess” when reunited with her lads.

Doting mum Coleen has been seen wearing a necklace with their four sons’ names on it while in the jungle. 

The mum-of-four can often be seen touching the necklace when she’s on screen to let her boys know that she is thinking of them.
