Sultan, who was enrolled in the institution’s distance learning programme, had reportedly just completed a routine examination before the unfortunate incident. According to his classmates, he stayed back briefly to submit an assignment for his Research Methods course before setting out for home.

Sources revealed that the young student was hit by stray bullets allegedly fired by soldiers deployed to quell a reported cult clash near the WAEC bus stop — a typically bustling area crowded with students, traders, and commuters.

Eyewitnesses recounted terrifying moments as gunshots rang out, sending people scrambling for safety. The once-busy environment quickly turned chaotic, with residents and passersby running for cover amid the confusion.

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, Sultan was seen lying in a pool of blood as concerned bystanders desperately tried to save his life. Some pressed clothes against his wounds while others offered prayers, hoping he would survive the ordeal.

He was rushed to the Military Hospital in Yaba, where medical personnel reportedly attempted emergency chest surgery. Despite their efforts, Sultan sadly did not survive.

His death has left his family, friends, and fellow students devastated, with many calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
