US-Based Nigerian Nurse K£lled by Suspect Fleeing Police in Stolen Truck

A US-based Nigerian nurse, Oluwalayomi Fadero, has tragically lost her life after being hit by a reckless driver who was fleeing from the police.

The incident reportedly occurred on Friday, March 20, 2026, during a police chase involving a 52-year-old suspect identified as Eugene Padgett, a parolee said to have a long criminal history.

Authorities revealed that Padgett was being pursued by police after allegedly stealing a truck. Reports indicate that he took a Ford F-250 from a car lot in North Nashville around 9:30 a.m.

During the chase, police said Padgett drove the stolen vehicle at high speed in the wrong direction along Murfreesboro Pike. He then collided with Fadero’s car as she was turning into a subdivision near Hickory Drive.

Sadly, she was confirmed dead at the scene.

Before her untimely death, Fadero was a recent graduate of Fisk University and was reportedly pursuing an accelerated nursing programme at another institution.
