Ukraine Under Relentless Strain as Putin Hits It With 6,000 Drones Every 30 Days

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a statement addressing the repairs that are underway in the regions affected due to the attacks by the Russians on several regions. In January, Russia launched more than 6,000 attack drones, around 5,500 guided aerial bombs, and 158 missiles of various types on Ukraine.

The attacks were virtually aimed at targeting and destroying major sectors, including the energy sector, railways, and infrastructure. The destruction of the sectors that sustain day-to-day life has a significant impact on Ukraine.

“Virtually all of it targeted the energy sector, the railways, and our infrastructure – everything that sustains normal life,” Zelenskyy regretted.

Zelenskyy on the Russian attacks

The president said that the attacks by the Russians have continued, and over the past week, they have been a record of 980 drone attacks, approximately 1,100 guided aerial bombs, and two missiles across Ukraine regions.

According to Zelenskyy, the attacks were a repeated attempt to destroy the logistic routes and disrupt the connectivity between the Ukrainian communities and cities.

The attacks are intended to undermine transportation, making it difficult to move and access essential services. This has increased the pressure on civilian infrastructures and country coordination.

Zelenskyy emphasizes that the air defense requires constant supply to counter the ongoing missile attacks and remains a critical priority for Ukraine in its attempt to protect the sky.

“That is precisely why the need to protect the sky persists.’

Ammunition from several platforms, including missiles from Patriot NASAMS, as well as F-16 aircraft, is needed every day during the countering of the attacks on Ukraine.

The President thanked all the international partners who understand and have continued to offer essential support to Ukraine in defending its airspace and enabling the country to help limit damage to its infrastructure.

The international partners’ support has proven to be vital during the Ukraine’s attempt to protect its country and counter the Russians’ attack.

Zelenskyy continues to call for increased air defense support as Russia continues to attack despite the critical infrastructure situation in Ukraine.

Earlier attacks by Russia on Ukraine

Zelenskyy had earlier addressed the continued drone attacks on residential areas in the cities and ballistic missiles in the Kharkiv region. The attack was on a warehouse belonging to a civilian that was an American company.

The attack showed a shift by the Russian army towards logistics strikes, compared with the earlier targeting of energy facilities.
