We all have that one holy-grail Trader Joe’s item that we couldn’t imagine living without, and for many TJ’s fans, their mini sheet cakes take the cake. If you know, you know. These cakes have quietly become one of the most beloved items on the shelf, and for good reason. They come in a rotating lineup of flavors (think vanilla bean, cookies and cream, strawberry, and the cult-favorite lemon that sells out every summer), all of which taste genuinely homemade straight out of the packaging. But the real secret? They’re basically a blank canvas just waiting to be dressed up.

At under $6, a Trader Joe’s mini sheet cake costs a fraction of what you’d pay for a custom bakery cake, which can easily run you $40 or more. That means you can grab a cake, spend a few more dollars on some strategic toppings, and walk away with a dessert that looks like it came straight from a fancy patisserie. Whether you’re hosting a summer dinner party, pulling together a last-minute birthday celebration, or just want to feel a little extra on a Tuesday, these viral hacks transform a humble Trader Joe’s sheet cake into a total showstopper. Here are 10 genius ways to upgrade one of Trader Joe’s best summer products.

Easy cake hack for summer hosting! The mini sheet cakes from Trader Joe’s are so good! They are perfect for hosting! If you want a cake that tastes homemade for a good price, these are it! I always love to do fun little cake hacks with these mini sheet cakes. It saves me so much time when hosting and looks so cute! I hosted a fruit themed girls day, and turning the Trader Joe’s mini lemon sheet cake into little lemon bites with fruit on top (to look like little mini fruits) only took 10 minutes and looked SO cute sitting out! All you need to make these lemon cake bites are one mini lemon sheet cake, some fruit, mint leaves, and I also used the dehydrated orange slices from Trader Joe’s. *my tip to get your frosting to look really smooth: after you smooth it out how you like it. Run your cake spatula under hot water to give it a final smoothing. These were so easy and such a hit at my girls day! Sometimes when it comes to hosting you don’t have enough time to bake and make everything, so quick little cake hacks like this are amazing! These are perfect for your summer parties! <div class= Read Original
