President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received the 2025 Audited Financial Statement of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC), which reported a profit after tax of ₦7.2 trillion, representing a 33 per cent increase over the ₦5.4 trillion recorded in 2024.

The Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, presented the audited financial statement to the President at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

Ojulari was accompanied by the company’s Group Chief Financial Officer, Dapo Segun, during the presentation, which highlighted the national oil company’s financial performance for the 2025 financial year.

In addition to the ₦7.2 trillion profit after tax, NNPC reported revenue of ₦34.5 trillion and dividend payments totalling ₦5.8 trillion, underscoring its earnings performance during the period under review.

The results represent an improvement on the company’s 2024 profit after tax of ₦5.4 trillion, reflecting a year-on-year increase of ₦1.8 trillion.

NNPC Limited had announced its audited financial results for the year ended December 31, 2025, on September 29, 2026, following its Annual General Meeting and the company’s second earnings call with financial and business analysts.

The presentation of the financial statement to President Tinubu provides an opportunity to highlight the company’s financial position and operational performance as it seeks to strengthen its contribution to Nigeria’s energy sector and national economy.

According to the company, the results demonstrate growing earnings strength and improved operational performance, providing a foundation for future growth.

The financial performance also comes amid expectations for NNPC Limited to sustain its role in the development of Nigeria’s petroleum industry, enhance operational efficiency and deliver greater value to the federation through its commercial activities.

As Nigeria’s state-owned national oil company, NNPC Limited occupies a strategic position in the country’s oil and gas industry, with its financial performance carrying significant implications for public revenue, energy investment and the broader economy.
