Time For Youthful Representation – A Voice Of Hope, A Symbol Of Renewal: Tafarki Declares Tom Garba The Best Choice

By Mayen Etim, Kaduna

Yakubu Tafarki, a resident of Kaduna State, has thrown his weight behind the aspiration of journalist and media entrepreneur Hon. Tom Garba, describing him as the ideal candidate to provide youthful, dynamic, and purposeful representation for the people of Lere West in the Kaduna State House of Assembly come 2027.

In a passionate statement, Tafarki declared that in a season when Nigeria’s collective destiny calls for visionary leadership, the emergence of Tom Garba stands as a luminous testament to the power of youthful dynamism, intellectual depth, and dedicated service.

“A man adorned not merely in traditional regalia but in the garments of responsibility, discipline, and cultural pride, he represents a bridge between our cherished heritage and the promising horizons of tomorrow,” Tafarki said.

Hon. Tom Garba, who currently serves as a journalist and Chief Executive Officer of TGNEWSPAPER has built a reputation for leading with empathy, integrity, and foresight.

Tafarki noted that Garba’s decision to contest is driven not by a desire to occupy office, but by an intentional commitment to make meaningful impact, viewing governance as a sacred trust bestowed by the people.

As Garba eyes the Lere West constituency seat in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, his candidacy is said to resonate strongly with the growing demand for youthful inclusion, progressive representation, and transformational leadership in the state.

Tafarki invoked the English proverb, “the child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth,” to underscore the urgency of integrating capable young people into leadership positions before society risks losing its future.

He highlighted Garba’s qualities as embodying youthful representation not just in age but in mindset – innovative, energetic, and forward-thinking; competence and capacity through a refined intellect blended with practical experience; cultural identity as a proud custodian of tradition who remains globally conscious; and service above self, with a heart that beats for the people rather than personal gain.

Drawing from the Holy Scriptures, Tafarki referenced 1 Timothy 4:12 – “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity” – stating that Hon. Tom Garba exemplifies this divine counsel, proving that youth is not a limitation but a divine endowment for impactful leadership.

He further cited Proverbs 29:2 – “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice” – as the hope that Garba’s aspiration kindles in the hearts of the people of Lere, particularly in Akurmi East and West areas, for governance that brings joy, equity, and sustainable development.

“A golden fish has no hiding place,” Tafarki added, asserting that the sterling qualities of Hon. Tom Garba shine with compelling brilliance and cannot be obscured, inviting the people to believe once more in the promise of selfless service.

He described Garba’s journey as more than a personal ambition but a collective movement and a clarion call that “it is our turn, and indeed, our time.”

Tafarki concluded with a prayerful note: “May wisdom guide him, may grace sustain him, and may the will of the people align with the purpose of destiny.”

Tom Garba, a native of Lere Local Government Area in Kaduna State, has gained prominence through his work as a correspondent with the Nigerian Tribune and Daily Times, as well as his humanitarian and community development efforts in Lere West.

His potential bid has already sparked significant grassroots support and discussions about the need for fresh, youthful voices in Kaduna’s legislative representation ahead of the 2027 elections.
