This is my dream move, says Man Utd’s Lammens

Manchester United’s new goalkeeper, Senne Lammens, has revealed that the “aura” of the club was a decisive factor in his move to Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old Belgian was the Red Devils’ only deadline-day acquisition, joining from Royal Antwerp as manager Ruben Amorim strengthened his goalkeeping options.

In an interview with the club’s official website, Lammens described the transfer as a childhood dream come true.

“This is my dream move,” he said. “When I was five, United were at the height of football. You keep in your memory how big Manchester United is.

When I heard they were interested, it was like a childhood dream. The club alone, the aura of the club, it’s massive. Being here today, seeing it, it’s a different level.”

The young shot-stopper also spoke about the emotional pull of Old Trafford.

“A big part is the stadium. You can feel the history when you walk into it. I’m looking forward to walking on the pitch for the first time and thinking about all the greats who have played there, especially goalkeepers.”
