The BMW 7 Series has long flown under the radar in conversations about high-performance full-size sedans. Unlike Mercedes-Benz, which has leaned hard on AMG to turn the S-Class into a fire-breathing luxo-barge, BMW has never unleashed a dedicated M7. That left a void at the top of the lineup – one that BMW tuner Alpina was more than happy to fill. With the B7, Alpina set out to deliver a proper go-fast 7 Series, notwithstanding the fact that the first B7 was actually based on the 5 Series.
