The singer made headlines after appearing on the American podcast Big Homies House, where he advised Americans against relocating to Africa, particularly Nigeria.

Davido described the country’s economy as being in “sha.mbles,” a statement that sparked a flur.ry of ba.cklash from Nigerians at home and abroad.

Prominent figures like Joe Igbokwe and Reno Omokri publicly crit!cized the remarks, accus!ng the artist of tarn!shing Nigeria’s image on a global platform.

Addressing the bac.klash, Davido defended his position by emphasizing the role of entertainers as the country’s “real ambassadors.” He took to his X handle, writing, “Yall m@d cus we the real ambassadors!”

Amid the ongoing uproar, Davido revealed another layer of the fallout, all3ging thr3ats to cancel his Lagos performance over his interview.
