The Cosby Show star Malcolm-Jamal Warner honored at Emmys 2025 In Memoriam after tragic death at 54It was an emotional moment at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday when veteran actress Phylicia Rashad honoured her late Cosby Show co-star, Malcolm-Jamal Warner. According to Daily Mail, Warner, who tragically drowned in Costa Rica on July 20 at the age of 54, was remembered during the ceremonys In Memoriam segment. Speaking from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, Rashad, 77, said: He was a beloved teenager in an iconic television series the world watched grow into a man. And like all our friends and colleagues who transitioned this past year, Malcolm-Jamal Warner remains in our hearts. Rashad who famously played Clair Huxtable opposite Warner on the 80s sitcom reminded viewers that though gone, his impact will continue to live on. The emotional segment also remembered other stars including Quincy Jones, Ozzy Osbourne, Loni Anderson, Maggie Smith, Michelle Trachtenberg and John Amos, while Vince Gill and Lainey Wilson performed Go Rest High on That Mountain. Warners death shocked fans worldwide after officials confirmed he drowned while swimming with his 8-year-old daughter in Playa Cocles, Limon Province.
