South African police search for 56-year-old man who ran away with his 15-year-old niece

Security agents in South Africa are calling on the public to help locate a missing 15-year-old girl, Rihanna Mohanlall, who was last seen with a 56-year-old man identified as Pradeep Sesejalam.

According to reports, the two were travelling together from Durban Central in KwaZulu-Natal.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) said the pair were last seen on Saturday afternoon, May 9, 2026, boarding a taxi at Phoenix Plaza. They reportedly left the area at about 5:00 p.m. and have not returned home since.

Family members later received information suggesting that the two were spotted walking along the beachfront near Suncoast Casino on Monday, May 11.

In a statement released on Tuesday, RUSA said its officers have been following up on several tips from the public and checking reported sightings across Durban.

“Reaction Officers have been following up on information received from the public and verifying multiple reported sightings of the two at various locations across Durban – KZN,” the agency said.

Despite these efforts, the pair have not yet been found.

RUSA also noted that Sesejalam is known to the teenager’s family and was reportedly in a relationship with her aunt.

“He is alleged to suffer from asthma and is further believed to consume alcohol and narcotics.

“Mohanlall is described as medium built with a dark complexion, blackish brown hair and brown eyes. She has no visible tattoos or scars and reportedly has no known medical conditions.

“Her family is concerned of the 38 year old age gap between the two.

“Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts can contact Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA).”
