Shock in Omaha as boxing champion Terence Crawford ordered out of his car at gunpoint after victory paradeJust hours after Omaha rolled out the drums to celebrate Terence Bud Crawfords historic victory over Canelo Alvarez, the world champion boxer found himself in a dramatic late-night incident with police. According to reports, Crawford was pulled over around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday for reckless driving. A video circulating online shows the tense moment officers ordered him and three others out of his car at gunpoint after spotting a firearm on the drivers side floorboard. Police later confirmed that the gun and another found on a member of Crawfords security team were legally owned. All occupants of the vehicle were permitted to carry, AP reported. Crawford, however, was ticketed for reckless driving. At his request, a police supervisor and lieutenant were called to the scene. The incident has since sparked an internal investigation ordered by Police Chief Todd Schmaderer, with Omahas Mayor John Ewing promising transparency. Ewing wrote on Facebook: I acknowledge the seriousness of what occurred and how trust between law enforcement and our community is important Omaha needs to remember this important day as a good one while we seek answers to how it ended. Crawford, now 42-0 with 31 knockouts, had just become the first male boxer to win unified titles across three divisions after defeating Alvarez in Las Vegas. His 38th birthday celebration and citywide parade earlier in the day had drawn massive crowds before the incident cast a shadow over the night. Crawfords camp has declined to comment on the matter.  The post Shock in Omaha as boxing champion Terence Crawford is ordered out of his car at gunpoint after victory parade appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
