Popular Cartoonist Scott Adams Dies at 68 After Battle With Cancer

Renowned American cartoonist Scott Adams has died at the age of 68. His death was confirmed by his first ex-wife, Shelly, during a livestream on Real Coffee with Scott Adams.

Adams had been battling prostate cancer, which later spread to his bones. The illness reportedly caused partial paralysis from the waist down in the months before his passing.

Scott Adams rose to global fame in the late 1980s while working at Pacific Bell Telephone Company, when he created the Dilbert comic strip in partnership with United Media. The comic quickly gained popularity and was eventually syndicated in hundreds of newspapers, later reaching nearly 2,000 publications at its peak.

However, in 2023, several newspapers began discontinuing the Dilbert strip following controversial remarks Adams made during a podcast episode. He later claimed that his views on “wokeness” were responsible for the widespread removal of the comic from publications.
