‘Plan your trips inside ChatGPT’: ixigo brings flights, trains, buses and hotels into one chat

India’s traveltech company ixigo has launched native apps for its services within ChatGPT to allow users to plan trips through a conversational interface before proceeding to ixigo Group apps or websites to complete bookings.

The move brings discovery, insights and booking into a single conversational flow, marking a step towards more integrated, AI-led travel planning, the company said.

The integration brings together ixigo’s three platforms, including ixigo Flights and Hotels, AbhiBus and ConfirmTkt, enabling travellers to search and compare flights, buses, trains and hotels in real time within ChatGPT.

Users can begin by typing prompts such as “@ixigo”, “@AbhiBus” or “@ConfirmTkt”, and then use natural language to explore travel options. The system provides live pricing, availability and fare insights, including suggestions for cheaper dates for those with flexible schedules.

It has also introduced real-time flight tracking within ChatGPT, allowing users to check updates such as boarding gates, baggage belts and check-in counters as part of the same interaction, it said.

Hotel bookings are also integrated into the experience, with users able to make conversational queries, for example, requesting seaside accommodation in Goa, and receive tailored options with dynamic pricing before proceeding to booking via ixigo’s platforms.

The service extends to ground transport, with airport cab options available through the ixigo app, offering connections to and from major airports.

Through AbhiBus, users can browse intercity bus services, filter by categories including new, top-rated, budget and electric vehicles, compare operators and check schedules. Meanwhile, ConfirmTkt allows users to search train availability and explore alternative routes with confirmed ticket options before completing bookings externally.
