One In Four Vehicles Produced In Germany In 2025 Came From BMW Group’s Plants

One in four vehicles produced in Germany in 2025 came from BMW Group’s plants in Dingolfing, Leipzig, Munich and Regensburg.

In 2025, more than 1 million vehicles was produced at the BMW Group’s plants – a quarter of a total of 4.15 million vehicles in the country. 

At the BMW Group’s plants in Germany, ICE, plug-in hybrids and battery-electric (BEV) models are produced on a single line.

The BMW Group – which owns Rolls-Royce, MINI and the BMW brands – is yet to give detailed production figures for 2025, but the German brand has confirmed that one in four vehicles built in Germany last year came from its plants.

Citing datas from the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), the BMW Group said more than one million vehicles was produced at its German plants in 2025 – a quarter of a total of 4.15 million vehicles manufactured in Germany during the same period.

“Our plants provide impressive proof of how competitive German industry is. Producing more than one million vehicles in 2025 is a strong testament to Germany’s innovative strength,” said Milan Nedeljković, who is responsible for Production.

“To achieve this, we are systematically leveraging innovation and digitalisation. Going forward, policymakers must ensure competitive framework conditions for Germany as an industrial location,” he added.

At the BMW Group vehicle plants in Dingolfing, Leipzig, Munich and Regensburg, vehicles with internal combustion (ICE models) engines, plug-in hybrids (PHEV models) and battery-electric (BEV models) drive trains are produced on a single line.

Vehicles from the BMW Group’s German plants, including BMW 7 Series and BMW i7 (Dingolfing), BMW 1 Series and MINI Countryman (Leipzig), BMW 4 Series Gran Coupé and BMW M3 Sedan (Munich) as well as the BMW X1 and iX2 (Regensburg), are primarily destined for the European market, in line with the principle of globally distributed value added.

BMW said production volumes in the Americas and China roughly correspond to the number of vehicles sold in those regions, adding that the Group’s detailed production figures for 2025 will be released in March 2026.
