‘Not leaders’ Chelsea stars Enzo, Caicedo blasted in rant

Chelsea are going through a very hard time right now. After a heavy loss, former player Frank Leboeuf spoke strongly about Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo. Saying they are not showing the leadership the team needs.

Tough time for Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo at Chelsea

Chelsea have lost five games in a row in the Premier League, and they have not scored a single goal in those matches. Their latest game was a 3-0 loss against Brighton & Hove Albion. This result made things even worse for the team and their fans.

Chelsea bought Enzo from SL Benfica and Caicedo from Brighton. Chelsea spent nearly £220 for this signings. These two midfielder are already shown their talent. Enzo was coming after winning World Cup for Argentina. Meanwhile, Caicedo was thriving in World Cup and for Brighton. Naturally, expectations were too high from them. They were showing results on the field till last season.

But right now, Chelsea looks lost during matches. Once players like Enzo and Caicedo were given a promising start. But now they are failing consistently to keep ball possession. Players playing with no proper structure, reason they can not successfully create goal chances. In this scenario, sqaud need a good leader. That person will be resposible to bound all the players with an invisible thread.

Why Leboeuf blames Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo for Chelsea’s failure?

According to Six Sports, Frank Leboeuf shared his honest opinion after the recent defeat. He said, “Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo are not showing good leadership. He believes big teams are called big by deeds, not by name. Also added that this team need a good goalkeeper, central back and midfielder.

Players like Dennis Wise, Craig Burley, and Roberto Di Matteo, these players worked hard, they have good leadership qualities and helped their teammates stay focused. He also spoke about great names like Marcel Desailly and Gianfranco Zola, who played with passion and pride.”

Players like Reece James, Joao Pedro, Marc Cucurella, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and Cole Palmer are having average performances. Many of them got sidelined due to injury throughout this season. Chelsea never played as a set team there always changes in the team.

In the match against Brighton, Chelsea’s midfield could not control the game. They lost the ball too easily and could not stop the other team from attacking. This made life very difficult for the defenders. Leboeuf feels that leaders should step up in such moments. But he did not see that happening.

He also talked about the club’s transfer plan. Chelsea have signed many young players with great potential. But they may need more experienced players. Who would be that player to guide the team?

Fans want to know why Chelsea is clueless on the pitch

Fans have reacted strongly to Leboeuf’s comments. Some agree with his harsh view, pointing to the team’s poor results and lack of fight as clear evidence. On social media, many supporters have questioned whether the current squad understands the club’s legacy.

These problems have a serious impact on Chelsea. They are already out of the race to qualify for UCL. Now they can even face relegation. This could affect Chelsea’s financial stability. They can also lose in transfer market with not having financial freedom.

Author’s Opinion

Enzo and Caicedo are getting blamed for Chelsea’s situation. But we have to keep in mind that football is not an individual game. To achieve good results, every player has to perform at the same time. From this point, Chelsea have to improve their core. Rather than chasing after hypes and big names.
