The Nizami Brothers will perform their first UAE Qawwali concert in Dubai this June at Emirates Theatre.

DUBAI: Renowned Indian Qawwals Akbar Nizami and Gufran Nizami, widely known as the Nizami Brothers, are set to perform in the UAE for the first time during a special concert in Dubai next month.

The highly anticipated Nizami Brothers Dubai concert will take place on 27 June 2026 at Emirates Theatre, with performances beginning from 6:30pm. Organisers said the evening will feature spiritual poetry, traditional Sufi music and the powerful live energy that has made the duo internationally recognised.

The Nizami Brothers belong to the historic Sikandrabad Gharana, a musical tradition connected to the spiritual legacy of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia and legendary poet-musician Hazrat Ameer Khusro. Their performances combine classical Indian musical training with the emotional depth and devotional spirit of traditional Qawwali.

The duo received training under the late Ustad Ghulam Sabir Nizami and renowned classical maestro Padma Bhushan Ustad Altaf Hussain Khan Sahab of the Khurja Gharana. Over the years, they have delivered more than 4,000 performances across India and internationally, including concerts in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom.

The Nizami Brothers Dubai concert adds another milestone to the artists’ global journey. They are recognised as the first Indian Qawwals to perform at London’s Royal Albert Hall and have appeared at prestigious international festivals including WOMAD Festival, Ruhaniyat Festival and Qutub Festival.

Fans of Sufi music are expected to attend the Dubai event in large numbers, with organisers promising an immersive evening celebrating spiritual heritage and traditional South Asian musical culture. Popular Qawwalis including Sone Ke Kalas Wale Khwaja and Shahe Madina are among the duo’s most recognised releases through major music labels.
