Portable Allegedly Flees As His Babymama, Ashabi Simple Reports Assault To Police (Video)

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has reportedly evaded police arrest following allegations that he assaulted his fourth baby mama, actress Ashabi Simple, during a confrontation in Ogun State.

The incident is said to have occurred on Thursday, January 1, 2026, when Ashabi visited Portable’s bar in the state. A video of the altercation, which later went viral on social media, showed the actress holding the singer’s clothing and expressing frustration over being referred to as his “baby mama.”

In the footage, Ashabi insisted that Portable should acknowledge her as his wife rather than merely as the mother of his child. “Oya pami baby, I’m also your wife. You have to stop calling me your baby mama,” she was heard saying.

The singer, however, rejected the demand and reportedly pushed her away, stating that he only recognises his wife, Bewaji. “I only have one wife; the rest of you are just baby mamas,” Portable said, according to the video.

The exchange reportedly escalated further, with Ashabi responding emotionally, saying, “Then you will have to kill me, baby.”

Following the confrontation, Ashabi and her siblings allegedly reported the singer to the police for assault and abuse. However, Portable was said to have escaped before officers arrived at his residence.

In a separate Instagram video, Ashabi claimed that police officers later met Portable’s pregnant wife, Bewaji, at their home, but the singer was nowhere to be found.

Recounting her version of events, the actress said she had been celebrating the New Year with her family when Portable called her, complaining of being in a bad mood and asking her to bring food to his bar. She alleged that upon her arrival, a disagreement ensued outside the bar, during which Portable slapped and beat her, seized their phones, and threatened her and her siblings with an axe.

The incident has since sparked widespread reactions online. While some Nigerians expressed sympathy for Ashabi, others criticised her, accusing her of forcing herself into the singer’s life and questioning her self-esteem.
