Distinguished Senator Ekwunife, CON, has called for stronger commitment towards the protection, development, and inclusion of Nigerian children as the country commemorates the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.

In her Children’s Day message, Senator Ekwunife congratulated children across Nigeria and reaffirmed her dedication to policies and initiatives aimed at empowering the younger generation.

Speaking on the 2026 Children’s Day theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child,” the renowned Senator stated that every child deserves equal opportunities irrespective of gender, physical ability, social background, or geographical location.

According to her, access to quality education, healthcare, security, and emotional support remains essential in building a society where children can thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development.

Senator Ekwunife noted that children should not only be seen as future leaders, but also as critical stakeholders in the present society whose welfare must remain a top priority for governments, families, and institutions.

She stressed that the future of Nigeria depends largely on how well children are nurtured, educated, protected, and guided today, urging parents, teachers, religious organizations, corporate bodies, and leaders at all levels to invest more in child-centered development initiatives.

The Senator further advocated for improved investment in education, healthcare delivery, digital inclusion, moral upbringing, and child protection programmes across the country.

Addressing Nigerian children directly, Ekwunife encouraged them to remain disciplined, hardworking, focused, and hopeful, while urging them to pursue their dreams courageously and never allow their circumstances to limit their aspirations.

Speaking further, the Senator urged parents and guardians to see and treat other people’s children as their own, stressing that such a mindset would extend the impact of parental care beyond individual families and help build a more compassionate, responsible, and morally upright society where every child feels valued, protected, and inspired to achieve greatness.

She also prayed for God’s protection, strength, and blessings upon every Nigerian child as the nation marks the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.
