How I Tested...

I slept on the Cool TENCEL™ Core Sheet Set for two weeks and evaluated comfort and durability before and after one wash cycle. Also, my air conditioning system died during a record-breaking heat wave in Philadelphia, so I tested a few days with no A/C, just fans.

Test Results...

Cooling effect. As someone who moves around a lot in their sleep and is prone to overheating, I was happy with how easily I was able to find cool spots when adjusting my sleeping position. Especially on the days with no A/C, the breathability of the 70% lyocell 30% cotton blend made it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep. I felt cool and comfortable all night. After sleeping on these sheets for two weeks, I can confidently say that they are the comfiest sheets I’ve ever owned. The cooling aspect was essential in preventing overheating, and I woke up feeling refreshed no matter the temperature.
High quality. When I opened the package, the sheets had a noticeable weight, minimal wrinkles, and felt luxurious to the touch. Once spread out, they felt extremely lightweight and draped beautifully without any ironing or washing beforehand.
Easy care. After washing the sheets once on a cold/delicate setting, followed by tumble drying, I was happy to see zero signs of pilling. In fact, they looked pretty much identical to when I first opened them, only now with even fewer wrinkles. I appreciated that air drying wasn’t required because I don’t have room in my apartment to do so.
Stain resistance. Even after multiple 100+ degree days, I was impressed to see no deep sweat stains, thanks to the fabric’s naturally high stain-release properties. I spilled some water on the sheets as well, and it didn’t leave a watermark. (It also dried in about five minutes.)
Smooth texture. I have curly hair and typically sleep with a satin bonnet on. Sometimes my bonnet (annoyingly) falls off, and it did one night. I was pleasantly surprised to see little to no hair shedding when I woke up the next morning, even though my hair had been rubbing directly against the fabric.

Sidenotes…

Eco-friendly fibers. TENCEL™ lyocell fibers are sustainable by nature. Brooklinen uses a proprietary blend of TENCEL™ lyocell and cotton for their coolest, most breathable sheets to date.
Tags. I love how Brooklinen’s fitted sheets have a tag on all sides indicating “short side” or “long side,” respectively. It made the mundane task of making your bed so much easier.
Price. At $179, I'd say this sheet set isn't the most expensive, but it's not the cheapest either. It's pretty comparable to other cooling bedsheets but after testing these out personally, I'd say they're well worth the price for a complete set.
