Ministry of Agriculture Declares 286 Jobs Including Cooks, Drivers and Receptionists

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, through the State Department for Livestock Development, has announced 286 job vacancies for a one-year contract.

In a notice dated February 3, Jonathan Mueke, the Ministry of Agriculture principal secretary, invited all qualified applicants to apply for the vacancies.

“Applications are invited from qualified persons for the vacant positions advertised in the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, State Department for Livestock Development, as indicated below,” the notice read in part.

The vacancies span multiple careers, including clerical officers, office assistants, drivers, cooks, security wardens, livestock assistants, animal husbandry assistants, and housekeeping staff.

Interested applicants are required to submit a single application using the PSC2 form (Revised 2016), available on the Public Service Commission website.

Applications must be submitted to the Principal Secretary, State Department for Livestock Development, on or before 28 February 2026 at 5:00 pm.

How to Apply

According to the notice, interested candidates are advised to review the job requirements on the State Department for Livestock Development website at www.kilimo.go.ke or psag.go.ke before submitting their applications.

Applicants are required to complete one (1) PSC2 Application Form (Revised 2016). The form is available for download from the Public Service Commission website at www.publicservice.go.ke

Additionally, it noted that candidates must apply for only one post; multiple applications will result in disqualification.

Applicants should ensure that all required documents are attached to their application. Failure to include the necessary documentation will result in automatic disqualification. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the State Department.

All applicants must meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution, in accordance with Article 232 (1) (i). The State Department for Livestock Development has emphasised that it is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from persons with disabilities, marginalised groups, and minorities.
