Sade Dada, the Public Policy Manager for Anglophone West Africa at Meta, has formally informed the Ministry of Information about the monetization of its enhanced features for content creators in Ghana.

In addition to this monetization, creators will now have the opportunity to earn a portion of the revenue generated from Facebook’s in-stream ads when Meta places ads alongside their content.

The app developer plans to introduce ads on reels, allowing creators to earn revenue from the ads placed on their reels on Facebook, with future plans to extend these monetization features to Instagram later this year.

Content creators must adhere to Meta Partner Monetization Policies and Content Monetization Policies, which have stricter guidelines than the community standards regarding content and presentation format.

Advertisers must also comply with Meta’s advertising standards, which are designed to enhance user experience and foster meaningful connections between individuals and businesses using Meta’s technologies.

The monetization of content in Ghana aims to empower local content creators to earn money from their online content and access advanced tools to manage their online businesses.

The expansion of these monetization tools represents a significant milestone that will enable content creators in Ghana to maximize their online presence and develop their brands.

The Ministry is eager to continue working together to promote digital innovation and entrepreneurship in Ghana. We are confident that this expansion will create new opportunities for our talented creators and contribute to the growth of Ghana’s digital economy.
