Mercy Chinwo Provides Full Scholarships to 100 Undergraduate Students

Mercy Chinwo, the renowned gospel singer, and her husband Blessed Uzochikwa have announced a significant philanthropic initiative: offering full scholarships to 100 undergraduate students at the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State. The couple shared this heartwarming news during a visit to the university on Friday, July 12, 2024, bringing joy to the attending students.

Their scholarship program covers all expenses including tuition fees, textbooks, allowances, and additional support to ensure a stable learning environment for deserving but financially challenged students of the university. Details on the selection criteria and application process will be communicated through official channels. The scholarship, valued at NXX million, takes immediate effect.

This act of generosity is not the first from Mercy Chinwo and Blessed Uzochikwa this year. In April, through their ‘MercyBlessed Foundation’ and Grace and Truth Nation Music label, they awarded scholarships to 50 undergraduates from the same institution.

“Port Harcourt is home to me any day. The memories are fresh of a city where I dared to dream and hope for a purposeful life. I thank the Lord for His work in me and through me so far. The scholarship is to inspire students that their dreams and ambitions are valid and not to give up because there is a God who has ‘Excess Love’,” Mercy Chinwo expressed.

Mercy Chinwo recently launched her new album titled ‘Overwhelming Victory’, recorded during her pregnancy. Prior to this release, she achieved success with albums like ‘Elevated’, ‘Wonder’, and ‘Confidence’, among others.
