Mbah rewards Rangers players with land, ₦100m after NPFL title triumph

Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah has announced major rewards for Rangers International FC following their 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title win.

Mbah revealed that each Rangers player will receive a plot of land in Enugu, alongside a ₦100 million cash reward for the team. In addition, the club’s management will receive ₦50 million, while extra plots of land were allocated to key officials including the general manager, secretary, coach, and assistant coach.

The governor made the announcement via his X handle after meeting with the squad in Enugu, describing the achievement as a reflection of pride and belief in local talent.

“What a season. What a team. They brought the trophy home again in style,” he wrote.

“As a token of that appreciation, I announced a plot of land in Enugu for each player, a cash reward of ₦100 million for the team, ₦50 million for the management, and additional plots of land for the general manager, secretary, coach, and assistant coach. They have earned it, every bit of it.”

Rangers secured their ninth NPFL title after a 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City on the final day of the season, edging out Rivers United in a tightly contested race.

The triumph also means Rangers will represent Nigeria in next season’s CAF Champions League alongside Rivers United, while Shooting Stars SC booked a CAF Confederation Cup spot after finishing third.

The achievement further strengthens Rangers’ status as one of Nigeria’s most successful clubs, drawing praise from President Bola Tinubu for their historic legacy and contribution to Nigerian football.
