Manchester United Amad Diallo Wins Third Man of the Match Award as AFCON 2025 Enters Quarterfinals

Manchester United and Ivory Coast winger Amad Diallo has continued his goal-scoring streak, winning the man of the match award for the third time at the ongoing AFCON.

Diallo scored the first goal in the match against Burkina Faso, which ended 3-0, and the Ivory Coast proceeded to the quarter-finals. 

Algeria will also proceed to the quarter finals after its victory against Dr Congo in the match that ended 1-0.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the quarter-final fixtures that will start on 9th January 2025. 

• Mali Vs Senegal, Jan 9, 2026, 7 pm
• Cameroon Vs Morocco, Jan 9, 2026, 10 PM
• Algeria Vs Nigeria, Jan 10, 2026, 7 PM
• Egypt Vs Ivory Coast, Jan 10, 2026, 10 PM

Football stars from major soccer leagues, including the English Premier League (EPL), who will also be in the quarter finals, include 

• Mohamed Salah – Liverpool (Premier League, England)

• Victor Osimhen – Galatasaray (Super Lig, Turkey) 

• Amad Diallo – Manchester United (Premier League, England)

• Brahim Díaz – AC Milan (Serie A, Italy)

• Ademola Lookman – Atlanta (Serie A, Italy)

• Omar Marmoush – Manchester City (Premier League, England)

• Nicolas Jackson – Chelsea (Premier League, England), currently on loan at Bayern Munich (Bundesliga, Germany)

• Hakim Ziyech – Galatasaray (Süper Lig, Turkey)

As it stands, Brahim Díaz of Morocco leads with four goals in the competition. Amad Diallo, from a distance, has three goals in the four matches played and one assist.

Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman is also leading with four assists, followed by Senegal’s star Sadio Mane with three assists.
