Lookman set for scans after injury in Copa del Rey final defeat

Ademola Lookman will undergo medical tests on Monday to determine the extent of the injury he sustained during Atletico Madrid’s Copa del Rey final defeat to Real Sociedad.

Lookman, who scored for Atlético in the match, was substituted in the 62nd minute after picking up what has been identified as an adductor problem.

According to reports, teammates Marcos Llorente and Alexander Sorloth also suffered knocks during the encounter.

Atletico will be hoping the Nigerian international avoids a serious setback, with the club still competing for the UEFA Champions League title.

The Red and Whites are set to face Arsenal FC in the semi-final later this month.

Lookman joined Diego Simeone’s side from Atalanta BC during the winter transfer window and has impressed with seven goals and four assists in 18 appearances across all competitions.
