King Charles offered a nod to Prince Harry in his Christmas address, a royal commentator has claimed.

Speaking on GB News, Angela Levin said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex watched the King’s speech looking for the “slightest error”.

While Charles opted not to address Harry and Meghan Markle directly, he did so in a more subtle manner, according to Levin.

“He didn’t have to mention or show any pictures of Harry and Meghan”, she said.

“He did say from the Bible, ‘don’t do unto others as you would have done to yourself’, I thought that was a very good hint that Harry might pick up.

“I’m sure Harry was watching. I think they look for the slightest error so they can pounce.

“He will be looking to see if they are included and if there is a picture of them so they can see if they can make some sort of fuss about it.”

The King focused on those “going the extra mile” to help those around them in his second Christmas speech since he ascended the throne.

As Charles spoke, highlights of his past years were shown, including helping plant a tree during a trip to Kenya, his first state visit as monarch with Queen Camilla to a Commonwealth country.

Harry and Meghan weren’t shown in the video as relations between the royal establishment and the Sussexes continue to be strained.

The couple opted to remain in the US for Christmas this year after they offered an olive branch to King Charles.

Harry and Meghan both spoke to the monarch in November for his 75th birthday.

According to royal commentator Michael Cole, Charles was “hurt” at not being able to see his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

“Christmas is supposed to be a time for families to come together”, he told GB News.

“Obviously, the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex didn’t get the memo because they will not be taking part.

“I must spare a word for King Charles. It must be very hurtful for him that he doesn’t see his grandchildren in California, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

“That is appalling. I think ordinary families really ought to try and come together at Christmas time.

“If they love each other, the best way you can demonstrate love is by showing it in real terms, that’s reaching out, making the apologies, showing the contrition that’s necessary.”
