Popular rapper Odumodublvck has argued that Lagos is not an ideal environment for young artists to nurture their careers.

The Abuja-based music star described Lagos as a selfish city, warning that artists who grow there risk becoming greedy, selfish, and self-centered. He credited his Abuja upbringing for giving him an advantage in the Nigerian music industry.

On his X handle, Odumodublvck wrote,

“The worst place for a young artist to grow is Lagos. It’s the most selfish place to grow.

“You will become them; a greedy, selfish, and self-centered packaged beast.

“That’s why it was easy to run through the industry as The Machine wey I be. I too real for una.”
