The Kwara State Government has procured 30 new electricity transformers to improve power supply, stimulate economic growth, and enhance social amenities across the state.

The Commissioner for Energy, Kola AbdulGaniy, disclosed this on Friday at the ministry’s premises while receiving the second batch of the equipment.

According to him, reliable access to electricity remains vital for boosting security, supporting small businesses, and improving the overall quality of life.

He assured residents that the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq would continue to prioritise the welfare of citizens.

AbdulGaniy explained that the first batch of 16 transformers was delivered on August 15, while the second batch of 14 units arrived on Friday.

A statement issued on Sunday by the ministry’s Press Secretary, Rukayat Abdulhameed, confirmed the development, stressing that the procurement underscores the governor’s commitment to the welfare and security of the people.

She added that the transformers would be distributed to communities that had earlier requested them to ease electricity challenges.
