Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has come under criticism on social media after being seen using a plastic cup during a recent outing.

The incident quickly drew attention online, with some users accusing him of hypocrisy, given his role in advancing policies aimed at reducing single-use plastics in Canada.

Trudeau had spearheaded efforts to curb plastic waste during his time in office, including the introduction of a nationwide ban on certain single-use items such as plastic bags and straws in 2019.

Critics pointed out that despite these measures, he was recently seen holding a plastic cup while out with Katy Perry, leading to a wave of reactions online.
