It’s Clog Season: Here’s How to Wear Yours This Fall

The first time I saw Birkenstock clogs is engrained deep into my core memories. I was in sixth grade, casually sitting in science class, when I suddenly realized that several of the girls around me were wearing a khaki-colored, slip-on shoe that I’d never seen before. I didn’t know what they were, but I knew that my middle school social status required them.

After reeling from the shock I experienced when Birkenstock clogs returned to the trend cycle a few years ago, I’ve since found myself pleasantly surprised over the fact that these shoes are no longer a fleeting trend, but a wardrobe staple that works well in my closet year-round.

While clogs are a versatile shoe to wear in all seasons, fall is when they really get their time to shine. Not only are they beyond comfortable, but they pair well with just about every outfit you could style throughout the season. We’re sharing Birkenstock clogs outfits to get you started in styling them this season. Plus, the best ones to shop if you’re ready to finally add a pair to your wardrobe.

Birkenstock Clogs Outfit Ideas

The secret to styling clogs? Just wear them. Seriously—I guarantee that any outfit you’d usually style with sneakers or Uggs could be made chicer with a pair of clogs. They’re the quintessential wrong-shoe theory choice in that they have a way of making an outfit feel effortless and relaxed.

With a monochrome outfit

Neutrals for fall? Groundbreaking. Monochrome looks are the easiest way to style your clogs with minimal effort. This easy combo can be your go-to look for all your casual upcoming activities, and you’ll love your clogs as the finishing touch.

With leggings and a blazer

Sure, jeans and clogs are always going to be a go-to, but my favorite way to wear my clogs is with leggings and crew socks. It’s the ultimate comfy combo, and by swapping out a sweatshirt for a sweater-and-blazer pairing, you have a perfect look for a casual fall Saturday.

Cardigans are the quintessential layering choice for transitional weather days. When paired with your go-to pair of jeans and a simple tee, this clog-focused outfit is vying to be your weekend uniform.

With trousers and a crossbody bag

If you’re looking to dress up your clogs, pair them with a pair of relaxed trousers, a collared jacket, and your favorite leather bag. The juxtaposition of the elevated trousers paired with the casual clogs will add to the outfit’s off-duty chicness.

With a sherpa jacket and cuffed jeans

Add to your clog’s inherently cozy vibe by pairing them with a pair of cuffed jeans and a sherpa jacket. This is the perfect outfit for romanticizing all fall activities—apple picking, anyone?
