The Buffaloes put four past RWD Molenbeek, but Orban was not on the scoresheet

Gent coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck has stated that Super Eagles striker Gift Orban was unfortunate not to score in their 4-0 bashing of RWD Molenbeek on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.

Prior to Gent’s Belgian Jupiler League after against RWD Molenbeek on Saturday, Orban was scoreless in his last two starts. However, against a Molenbeek side that had conceded 27 goals in 16 games, the former Stabaek man had a good chance of breaking his barren run. However, it did not pan out that way.

Goals from Hugo Cyupers and Hyun-Seok Hong gave the Buffaloes a two-goal lead at the break. Then, Tarik Tissoudali and Julien De-Sart both scored in the second half to seal the 4-0 victory for Gent.

Nigeria star Orban had 76 minutes of action, but he failed to rattle the net despite registering seven attempts at goal. The 21-year-old hitman had almost a third of Gent’s shots, but he did not convert any.

Gent coach Vanhaezebrouck was happy with his side’s result, but he was disappointed that Orban did not get his own goal.

“So it wasn’t all perfect, but I don’t want to focus too much on the negatives today,” Vanhaezebrouck told Sporza per Voetbal Primeur.

“We also have some bad luck with the ball on the post. It is especially unfortunate for Orban himself that he could not score.”

Next up for Gent is a Europa League game against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday, and Orban would be looking to return to the scoresheet, as that is where he has found the most joy this season.
