“Insecurity And Terrorism Is A Huge Business Now In Nigeria” — Didi-Omah Augustine Chinazaekpere

I just remembered during the Good luck Ebele's administration as the President of Nigeria. The heat of Boko Haram and bombing was the order, and this was the weakness that Muhammadu Buhari used to down talk Good luck Ebele Jonathan out of the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja. 

I can remember clearly, it was popular, "Bring Back Our Girls". This was the time, the chibok secondary school girls was kidnapped. History repeating itself in a bad way — so bad indeed. Executive, the "Bring Back Our Girls" tarry for some time, it passed out! Like Ishola Rukayat Nifemi Arike, will always say, life continues.

I know why I went back to then because I was in JSS 2 to JSS 3 at Zion International High School, Rumueme Campus. Now, let's come back to the present: what just happened is a bad game played against this current government. Now most of the politicians at the helm of power — might be saying within them, “This is a distraction against our second term in office”. “Let's leave this and focus on the general election”, “January 2027 is fast approaching” — and probably “this phase will pass, and the people will not talk about it again”. 

Executive, insecurity and terrorism is a huge business now in Nigeria. You want yourself to be the talk of the town, go and target a school and kidnap in their numbers. The media will talk about you, the newspaper will publish about you, the government will be on a meeting to reach to you whether alive or dead or on negotiations. It is very bad. I don't know that town in oyo exist, even the President doesn't know — I think so.

But what is now trending! The community, why? Insecurity. “Bring back our children” is what is everywhere, it is now “Bring back our children” in 2026, no more “Bring back our girls” whereabout around 2011 precisely. The primary problem with the country, Nigeria, are Nigerians. 2027 general election is coming, the average minds will be thinking on party side instead of philosophy siding — the small minds will be thinking of money collection and cast on who is the highest bidder.

The no minding people, will not even votes. Forgetting that it is who you put in power that command your future, even the future of the church. Even the Bible stated many passages from the Old testament to the New testament about the power of a government or king. So Executive, this will soon pass! That's what is occurring at the higher level of Nigeria government — and this is a worst mindset for a leader to have.

I like people who point out the problem, but it does not end by pointing out the problem. Many see problems but to be honest with you; I love people that not just point out the problem, and also offer solutions to it — even if it is a suggestion.

Here it drives me to being a good marketer. Executive. Marketing is simple, when you show people the problem and you show them the solution — presenting your offer. They will be moved to act!

Same principle in every field. Be in front of people, offer a deal, negotiate rightly, get agreements, close the deal — boom! You are there. 

You see insecurity as a problem, but it is a good venture. Solving insecurity and still making revenues from it. I believe we can still make money without doing evil. How? Establish a private security organisation. Russia, South Africa, England, etc. they have this; it is not a strange idea. The government cannot secure a complete nation impossible — then let's the people own their physical security.

Security sector is a good investment; it needs high-tech security systems, well trained personnels, fast information delivery systems, accessible feedbacks channels, strong people relation networks, appreciative weekly payment, good transport and logistics vehicles, community representatives, etc. Privately own, government recognised, social security certified and well financed. Executive. I have been studying this, and keep studying it — Private Security Agency, international and local.

I started studying this during the outbreak of Boko Haram heats in Nigeria. I was still in junior secondary school, a small boy with a mission. Executive, I will stress that absolute security requires investment in manpower, technology and partnerships, and must involve citizens, traditional institutions, communities, common people, the private sector and international allies. From 1999 till date, Nigerian government has and will keep failing its citizens in terms of secured security stand. This insecurity is a worm to our economy.

How? Investors are not safe, schools are not safe, churches are not safe, mosques are not safe, the streets are not safe. When the community is not safe: people don't go to school anymore, they don't trade anymore, investments cannot be put into that place, fear grips everyone. And it's affects the economy of the community. Peace brings progress but fear kills and hindered progress.

When insecurity is the order of the day. It started from highways, to neighbourhood; now to schools, churches, mosques, and even in your room. I am just making few wise points, the next booming business after data is security — I believe with high investments in security, Nigeria will be safe. The Nigerian government should stop treating security funding as expenditure, they should treat it as a must-to-do investment. Because when the people are safe, the nation will be progressing. Executive.
