Days of Rage’ Protests Sweep Nigeria as Citizens and Security Forces Unite Against Bad Governance

As discontent over governance issues reaches a boiling point in Nigeria, the nation is bracing for the ‘Days of Rage’ protests organized by the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement. The event, which aims to address long-standing concerns over the country’s leadership, has gained support from various segments of society, including security forces.

According to Saharareporters News, Omoyele Sowore, the leader of the #RevolutionNow movement and a former presidential candidate, announced that Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has instructed police officers not to attack protesters during the demonstrations. Sowore also shared a list of 15 demands from Nigerians as part of the ‘Days of Rage’ protest.

Sowore claims that police officers, soldiers, and other security personnel are also frustrated with the current state of governance and have expressed interest in joining the protests. In a recorded phone conversation shared by Sowore, a soldier encouraged Nigerians to participate peacefully in the demonstrations, assuring that no harm would come to them.
