“I Would Have Been Led Astray During My Nysc Service Year In Benue State And Been Struggling In Ministry” — Didi-Omah Augustine Chinazaekpere

One of the way someone can know his calling, aside from Vision, Heart desires, and Talent. GOD will put a burden in your heart: if the burden is on politics, that means you are a politician. If the burden is on music, you are a musician or music artist. If the burden is on business, you are a businessman. If the burden is on ministry, you are a minister. So it is not necessarily everyone should be a pastor. Because now when a youth is close to a pastor, the next plan is to divert him into the church business. 

That's why you see many people praying for what they should have been the solution to, because they have been led astray. When the people want to make Jesus Christ the king, He escaped through the crowd, why? That's not His field. I would have been led astray during my NYSC service year in Benue State and been struggling in ministry. Because at Benue State where I serve, the overseer of the church where I worship. I believe that was what was about to happen to me. I had to pray to God for direction, not once until it becomes part of my daily prayer points.

And to know before then God have shown me my path directly, which is business and charity, business and leadership, business and empowerment. God told me to study the lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Job and Daniel — which I did before embarking for NYSC in April 2026.

A youth with intention of business cannot be dedicated to a young growing church pastor now again. Because the pastor will try to convince you to drop your business and follow him or her in building the church. God gave you a vision, you abandoned it, to please a human like you. Whose reward are you seeking? God or man.

Executive, I keep telling people to study the Bible and pray often. Be dedicated to God through fellowship with the Word and meditation and prayers. Because now many people are derailed from their visions. The message of God that will transform your life will come to you directly and privately. Because all the disciples of Jesus Christ followed Jesus Christ because of the message came to them directly if not privately. God have given you a message, a mission, a vision in politics — you dumped it, and be dedicated to a different assignment.

Why are people under the coverage of the Bible deceiving people now? Pastors are few. Many are called but few are chosen. Now we have many are called and many are chosen. Who made you God's decision maker. That you will pick someone because he is dedicated to you, without asking God, and turn him into pastor. Ask God, seek God like Elijah did.

God is too big to handle who will minister on the alter for him. God is capable of sending Shepards into the field to take care of the sheeps. I am called into business as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Job. And these men are of good reports before God. God calling is not limited to ministry, and ministry is not tied to pulpit. Everyone have a different assignment as every man have a unique fingerprint. My fingerprint and yours are different and unique.

Before my 14 to 15 years old, I was filled with the strong desires and burdens to have businesses. I was organising vigils with our neighbours' children. I was embarking on evangelism, I was an active member of Scripture Union Nigeria. I have embarked on personal evangelism; so you should not think that I don't know what I am saying. When God placed a burden of ministry into the heart of Bishop David Oyedepo was he not working under the ministry of housing and works. So what can you say then?

When Jesus Christ called Simon Peter was he not a successful fisherman. But God knows best. God have shown us from the scriptures that He calls people and place them where He destined for them. No wonder, Apostle Paul said, let everyone abide in his field and serve the LORD. Every man should know himself, stay within his limits, and not to limit his mindset. The conclusion of the whole matter is to serve the creator Adonay.

There are three primary ways to know your calling: Divine Vision, Strong Heart Desires — like a burden in your heart, and Talent — natural born talent. But you need skills and knowledge on that areas, so you can succeed through. Because God called you into ministry, you think you will just open a church and start succeeding. You are not serious, you will end up small and close that church; and be looking elsewhere.

Because you can memorized some scriptures, and pray and something happens — you think you are called into ministry. Because you are a good public speaker and people clap hands for you, you think you are called into politics. Sorry you are deceiving yourself. Step into the area you think you are called, if you will not be struggling and be irrelevant. Follow God and He will guide you through the journey of life and take you to the future He has prepared for you.

Everyone God called, He equiped them indirectly and directly. It is just for you to be willing to learn and be servant. Executive, there are some prophecies that are not new to me: like telling me that my business is going global. When I already have global plans and before doacWeb; Doactalk was a global talk and news blog. Another, you are telling me that you see me preaching the gospel. 

I started preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ from my early teenage years, then I moved into sharing the Word through blog posts, and created an organisation to handle that in 2022 till date and forever. So that's not new, we do partner with local churches especially Anglican Church to preach the gospel in prison mission, street evangelism, and so on. Even joined with the Scripture Union Nigeria for school evangelism.

Nothing is new to me under the sun, because I have been given favour, mercy and grace by God through Jesus Christ. I pray in tongues not by my strength but by the auction of the Holy Spirit. Because I was warned by a madman at Ekowe, during my polytechnic years, that I should stop forcing myself to speak in tongues — and be saying rubbish. That the Holy Spirit will proceed the tongues out of my mouth. Executive, now I pray in tongues, and freely. When I am praying in tongues, the Holy Spirit is communicating the meaning to my heart.

So that I pray in understanding and with the spirit backed by the Word. The truth is bitter but it builds. John Newton and William Wilberforce, During the slavery era of Africa. John Newton was a good slave buyer, and when he got salvation, and began pastoring a church. He knows it was late for him to start admonishing slave trade, then a dedicated man was worshiping at the church were John Newton was pastoring, and when John Newton saw the passion of Christ in William Wilberforce — he did not divert him to church business.

He discovered that William Wilberforce want to be a politician, he encouraged him, and gave him a task. Go to the parliament and fight for the admonishing of the slaves trade. William Wilberforce was elected into the parliament, and proposed the bill of ending the slavery of the Africans, for the first time that this issue was brought. And it took long time before the battle was won because it was normal and slaves was building their cities. There are many men and women that became the light of the Gospel in their field, without diversion to be in management of someone's church business.

God is not looking for ministers, He is looking for men that will manifest the light in the world. And the world is waiting for the manifestations of the sons of God, not the manifestations of pastors. We are the light of the world not of the church. Let every man abide in his field and serve the LORD. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your father which is in heaven. In the world of business, world of industries, world of politics, world of entertainment, world of sports, world of finances, world of internet — into all the world and preach the Goodnews to every creation. That's the great commission.
