Tems go Nigeria

Nigerian Grammy-winning singer, Temilade Openiyi known professionally as Tems, has revealed that she’s not allowed to move around freely in Nigeria.

She made the disclosure in an interview on Power 105.1 FM in the United States, that Nigerians are always observant and as soon as she lands, people always know where she stays.

The ‘Try Me’ crooner also admitted that in America where she currently resides, she is still noticed, but not as much as it is in Nigeria.

Tems go anywhere

Tems explained that Nigerians are very interested in drama and they always want to know what’s going on in someone’s life espcially a celebrity.

The radio presenter suggested the singer disguise to go out in America, but she revealed that she already did and she was still spotted so now she is no longer disguising.

Meanwhile, in another news…

Nigerian R&B singer, Chike has reminisced on his life as a regular person before hitting stardom.

He recalled being able to drive to the car wash himself and going to barbing salon to get a haircut when he was younger, all of which he can no longer do freely because he’s now a celebrity.

The ‘Roju’ crooner said he does not have any regrets about being famous, but he misses those regular activities he could do as an average person.

Chike said; “I do not have any regrets. When I consciously started making music, I have always wanted to be only recognized for what I do. So, I will not say I have regrets, but I would just say there are some things that I wish I could still do without raising an eyebrow.

For example, I love to take my car to the car wash and do stuff for myself. In fact, one of my favorite things to do when I was younger was to be in a barber’s shop and get a haircut, but now you have to stay at home. It is a lot of home time. I am not very extroverted, but there are just certain places that I like to go to.”
