HOW TO STAND OUT AMONG OTHERS IN YOUR FIELD? A CASE STUDY OF DANIEL

I, Didi-Omah Augustine Chinazaekpere, took time to study "Daniel 1" of the holy bible. Many Christians are familiar with that scripture.

When Adonay delivered Judah into the hands of King Nebuchadnezzar, Babylon. Babylon is located in present-day Iraq.

King Nebuchadnezzar took every goods and young men of Judah, according to the Bible and human history, to Babylon.

Here is the message, Daniel and the three Hebrew men; Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

(Daniel 1 vs. 4) Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

For you to stand out among others in your field, in life — according to the scripture, you must have these features, and be.

(Daniel 1 vs. 4)

1. No blemish/free from physical defects

2. Good looking

3. Gifted in all wisdom

4. Possessing knowledge

5. Quick to understand

6. Ability to serve

7. Teachable: teachable in nature, always open to learning.

These are the seven features, characteristics; one need to excel and stand out in life!

To achieve more excellence; study more, watch what you eat and drink — be mindful of what enters into your mouth. A king should not take intoxicating drink, should never get drunk with wine (Proverbs 31 vs. 4-7).

Improve in skills, be skillful — seeing a man that is diligent in his business, for he shall dine with kings and princes, not stand before mean men. (Proverbs 22 vs. 29).

You don't need connections or recognitions from man to climb higher. You need to build yourself, be diligent in what you do, possess boldness, and be of good faith.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. (2 Timothy 2 vs. 15, 19, 21-26).

Here is the proper explanation of that scripture from 2 Timothy 2 vs. 22-26.

Avoid the passions of youth, and strive for righteousness, faith, love, and peace, together with those who with a pure heart call out to the Lord for help.

But keep away from foolish and ignorant arguments; you know that they end up in quarrels.

As the Lord's servant, you must not quarrel. You must be kind toward all, a good and patient teacher,

who is gentle as you correct your opponents, for it may be that God will give them the opportunity to repent and come to know the truth.

And then they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the Devil, who had caught them and made them obey his will.

That is it!

To have more excellence, study more, watch what you eat and drink, and improve in skills. (Daniel 1 vs. 11-21).

Be different!
