Here are my 5 keys to marketing success:

1. Promote Emotions

Emotions is the biggest reason for people to buy your product, service, or story.

Focus on the emotions behind the buying decisions. Don’t promote features, benefits, products or services. Promote “EMOTIONS.”

2. Tell Stories

Stories sell. Tell them your story, your customer’s story, or other people’s story.

Add compelling or emotional stories to your sales, marketing, service, and communications process.

People buy stories so create content that will engage, inspire, entertain, amuse, inform, or educate.

Remember gripping storytelling will capture your audience’s attention, and marketing is about gathering people’s attention.

3. Forge Relationships

Business, marketing, sales, and communications is about forging relationships with your internal and external customers.

Personalized, conversational, and compassionate marketing and communications, and win-win negotiations are at the heart of strong and beneficial relationships.

4. Offer Solutions

Offer solutions or answers to people’s problems. Your product or service should offer help or assistance to alleviate customer concerns, conundrums, problems, or pains.

5. Blend Intuition and Data Science

Marketing is about understanding human nature, increasing self-awareness, listening to the consumer, pursuing responsible growth, and service excellence.

This will happen when you blend the art of intuition and the analysis of data science to unearth insights that will enable deeper customer or client engagement and smarter Return on Investment (ROI).

Fuse creativity and analytics to promote your business or expertise through word-of-mouth marketing, influencer marketing, public relations, media coverage, and data-driven content marketing and digital marketing, particularly through video storytelling (watching), podcasting (listening), and writing a book (reading).

A book is a very effective marketing medium to promote your expertise or business, build or strengthen a brand, emerge as a thought leader, create an impact, or leave a legacy to be remembered by.
