Google India and the BCCI have announced a partnership making Google Search AI Mode an Official Premier Partner of TATA IPL 2026, bringing AI-powered match analysis, conversational insights, and live broadcast integration to millions of cricket fans.

NEW DELHI: Cricket just got smarter. Google India and the Board of Control for Cricket in India have announced a landmark partnership that will bring AI-powered analysis directly into the IPL 2026 fan experience, making this the first time the TATA IPL live broadcast has been integrated with artificial intelligence for real-time match insights.

Google Search AI Mode has been named an Official Premier Partner of TATA IPL 2026, a collaboration designed to take cricket fandom well beyond the scorecard and into something far more conversational, contextual, and immersive.

The idea is simple but powerful. Rather than just watching the game, fans can now ask questions and get intelligent answers in real time. What makes Bumrah the best bowler in high-pressure overs? How does Abhishek bat so fearlessly at the top of the order? AI Mode can handle these questions mid-match, delivering tactical analysis and historical context that puts fans right at the heart of the action.

The experience goes deeper than live games. Fans can use AI Mode to revisit classic matches, compare captaincy styles across different eras, analyse strategy shifts, and follow threads of curiosity as far as they want to take them. Complex comparisons, like whether Rohit or Dhoni’s tactics have been more effective in crunch situations, are now just a search query away, with the ability to keep asking follow-up questions to peel back even more layers.

BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia called the collaboration a fundamental transformation of the fan experience. “We are thrilled to empower our millions of passionate fans with enriched and conversational insights, deepening their connection to the game they love,” he said.

Shekar Khosla, VP Marketing at Google India, pointed to the curiosity-driven nature of cricket fandom as the driving force behind the partnership. “Cricket fans are not just passive viewers but active experts,” he said, adding that AI Mode is built to help fans stay connected to the game’s pulse like never before.

The partnership also extends to everyday match-day moments, from finding the best sports café nearby for a ten-person watch party to researching elite player fitness routines. IPL season just became a whole lot more interesting.
