Ojioka Gift Chizam, popularly known as Gifted, is a Nigerian creative and entertainer who performs under the stage name GKD Gifted King David, also known as Mr. Giftology, the Comedy Professor.

Born on May 7, 2000, Gifted comes from Rumuokani Community in Ogbakiri Town, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria. He currently lives in Rumuosi, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

His story is one of creativity, responsibility, faith, family, and persistence.

Early Life

Gifted is the first child of his mother. His life began under difficult circumstances. Before he was born, his biological father lost his life during the 1999 community crisis in his hometown.

He was raised by his mother and her family and later grew up with a stepfather. From his upbringing, he learned values that have remained important to him—respect, contentment, patience, responsibility, and faith.

In 2015, after the passing of his stepfather, life changed again. As the eldest child, Gifted had to take on more responsibility while still trying to figure out his own life and pursue the things he loved.

Supporting his mother and younger siblings was not always easy, but the experience helped shape the person he would become.

Discovering His Love for Entertainment

Growing up, Gifted often noticed the talents of people around him. Some of his classmates could draw beautifully, others could dance, act, or do things he admired.

Instead of allowing those differences to discourage him, he started looking for something that came naturally to him.

That search eventually led him to acting and comedy.

His first major interest in performance came through stage drama in school. He discovered that whenever he acted, he felt comfortable expressing himself in front of people.

Comedy soon followed.

Gifted enjoyed watching comedians, particularly Prince Hezekiah, and began retelling jokes to his classmates. At the time, he probably did not realize that those little moments were helping him develop the skills he would later need as a comedian—the ability to deliver a joke, read an audience, create laughter, and become comfortable on stage.

He was also involved in school debates and public speaking. He loved television talk shows and would sometimes imagine himself as the presenter, practicing what it would be like to host a programme.

Little by little, entertainment became more than something he enjoyed watching. It became something he wanted to do.

The Moment That Changed Everything

One of the most important moments in Gifted's early creative journey happened in 2017.

During a school Christmas carol, he was originally given a minor role. But while rehearsing, he demonstrated another actor's part.

Something about his performance caught the director's attention.

Instead of remaining in his original minor role, Gifted was given a bigger comic role in the production.

The performance went well, and the team was rewarded for their work. For Gifted, however, the greatest reward was the confidence he gained from the experience.

It showed him that perhaps this thing he had been enjoying for years was actually a gift he could develop.

That experience strengthened his decision to take comedy and acting seriously.

He was particularly inspired by legendary Nigerian comic actors such as Mr. Ibu and Sam Loco Efe, whose performances showed him how comedy could entertain people while also telling stories about everyday life.

Becoming GKD Gifted King David

As the years passed, Gifted's interests continued to grow.

Comedy remained at the centre of his creative journey, but he did not want to limit himself to only one form of expression.

Today, GKD describes himself as a content creator, comic actor, stand-up comedian, songwriter, poet, podcast host, and minister of the gospel.

His content covers comedy skits, storytelling, music, poetry, podcasts, and inspirational messages.

For him, entertainment is not only about making people laugh. He also wants his creativity to carry something meaningful—to encourage people, share ideas, communicate positive values, and inspire others.

The Work Behind the Laughter

People may see the funny side of GKD, but there is another side that is less visible.

Behind the jokes and entertainment is someone who spends time thinking about ideas, writing, creating, rehearsing, recording, and trying to improve.
