Ghanaian visual artist Derrick O. Boateng has achieved a major international milestone after YouTube licensed two of his artworks and acquired additional pieces from his Music Makes the Pain Fade collection for use in visuals connected to the African Artist category at the Grammy Awards.

His work featured prominently in official Pamoja YouTube Grammy Party invitations and save-the-date campaigns.

Boateng’s colorful and culturally rich pieces helped spotlight African music talent, celebrating nominees such as Burna Boy, Tyla, Davido, Ayra Starr, Wizkid, and others. The collaboration further amplifies Ghanaian creativity on a global platform, highlighting the growing influence of African visual artists in major global events.

The 2025 Grammy Awards also saw South Africa’s Tyla win her second Grammy after taking home the Best African Music Performance award, marking another proud moment for African music on the global stage.
