The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old technician, Emmanuel Achogwu, for vandalising solar panels installed to power streetlights.

This was made known in a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, on his X account on Monday.

He wrote, “Recently, #followlasg installed some solar-powered streetlights in some parts of the state. A few weeks later, the solar panels are being stolen.

After being notified, the police set to work. A few days ago, Emmanuel Achogwu, 30, was taken into custody by Alausa Division officers on Ikosi Road with four solar panels just after he took them off.

The culprit was identified via investigation to be one of the personnel hired to install the solar-powered
