FG to establish IDP camp in Ifon-Orolu Communities, says Senator Ajagunla

…as he donates 200 bags of rice to residents

Senator Representing Osun Central, Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunla disclosed that the Federal Government is set to establish an Internally Displaced Camp for Ifon and Olobu communities to help facilitate humanitarian support for the affected individuals from the recent Communal clash between the two communities

He disclosed this during his visit to the palace of Olufon of Ifon-Orolu Oba Peter Oluwole on Thursday, while he also donated bags of rice to alleviate the suffering of victims who might have lost their means of livelihood due to the recent clash.

While speaking, Senator Ajagunla explained that the Senate has mandated NEMA to set up IDP camps following the Senate resolution and there will be support from the Federal government.

He, however, added that it’s important to show support to the displaced victims

“We brought bags for rice, 400 bags for the displaced people and also I know Ilobu people are very happy about this.
We must support our people and of course, I’ve been able to get a motion in the National Assembly to get an IDP camp in Ilobu and Ifon, presently we’re working on it and there will be lots of support from the Federal government,” he assured.

The Olufon of Ifon, and Orolu Oba Peter Oluwole who spoke on behalf of the other three kings, appreciated the kind gesture of the Senator while assuring that there will be peace henceforth.

“We thank our distinguished Senator, Ajagunla for the good gesture he has extended to us at Ifon-Orolu kingdom.

“The three kings of the communities, The Elerin of Erin, the Olobu of Ilobu and myself are President of the Traditional Council of Irepodun and Orolu and we have made a promise together that there will be peace this time around and there’s going to be a continue dialogue so that we find the whole cause of the matter and resolve the amicably.” He noted
