Female Student allegedly pours hot water on lodge mate following sexual assault allegation

A male student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University was hospitalised with severe burns after a female lodge mate allegedly poured boiling water on him following a sexual assault accusation.
.Despite his insistence that he was not involved, the female student allegedly attacked him with scalding water at an off-campus lodge around 2 a.m. on February 21.
Fellow students are praying for his recovery.

A male student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University has been hospitalised after sustaining severe burns when a female student allegedly poured boiling water on him.

According to reports from fellow students, the female student suspected the male student, identified as John, of sexually abusing her while she slept. Despite his insistence that he was not involved, the female student allegedly attacked him with scalding water at an off-campus lodge around 2 a.m. on February 21.

Eyewitnesses said that a verbal argument preceded the attack, and after initially retreating to her room, the female student reportedly returned with boiling water and poured it on John. Students who rushed to help found him writhing in pain.

A video shows John lying in a hospital bed with bandages covering his chest, back, arms, shoulder, midriff, and parts of his legs. Fellow students have called for prayers as he fights for his life.

Authorities and the university community have not yet released an official statement regarding the incident.

In other news….Nollywood comedian and content creator Okemesi has reportedly fallen into a coma following complications from medication he received at a hospital.

Fellow actor Jeff Owolewa, popularly known as Tony Montana, shared the update on Instagram on Monday evening.

This news comes just two days after Okemesi moved into a new apartment provided for him by the public.

Okemesi, whose real name is Bamidele Tope Saint, had appealed for financial help a few weeks ago after illness left him without a home.

In a recent update, Jeff Owolewa revealed that Okemesi had to be hospitalized again due to adverse effects from the drugs administered by the hospital that treated him previously.

Jeff explained that Okemesi faced rejection from several hospitals before being readmitted to the first facility that had discharged him last week. He is currently in a coma.

Calling on Nigerians to keep Okemesi in their prayers, Jeff also appealed for financial support to cover his ongoing medical care.

Jeff said “Guys, Okemesi has been hospitalised again. He was sleeping all through Saturday and Sunday without having much appetite for food due to complications from the drugs that were given to him from the hospital when he was discharged last week.

“I rushed to his house very early on Monday to take him to hospital. He was rejected in different hospitals including a government hospital in Igodo, the doctor refused to attend to him saying there’s no bed space. I have to take him back to the first private hospital that started his treatment. So they admitted him, and stabilised him.

“His breathing is improving. So, he has been in coma since Monday morning. They have placed him on oxygen. We’re all praying that he gets back on track.”
