Belgian Pro League side, Club Brugge, are looking at Nigeria and Supersport United striker, Etiosa Ighodaro, as a potential replacement for the departing Igor Thiago, Soccernet.ng reports.

Brazilian striker, Igor, has been in fine form for the Blauw-Zwart this season, having a hand in 30 goals from 48 games. He has scored 26 goals and recorded four assists.

His goal-scoring prowess saw Brentford sign the 22-year-old on a five-year-deal. The move signalled a potential replacement for Ivan Toney who has set sights on playing with the bigger clubs next season.

With Igor’s transfer confirmed, Club Brugge have enquired about the 22-year-old Nigerian striker, Etiosa Ighodaro as a potential replacement.

Ighodaro has spent most of his football career in South Africa. He joined Mamelodi Sundowns from Abuja College in 2021 and has been on loan to Chippa United, University of Pretoria, and now, Supersport United, accruing 66 games and scoring 19 goals.

As per Football Live, Club Brugge are keen on the services of the Nigerian forward and are set to initiate discussions with Mamelodi Sundowns in the coming days to explore the possibility of acquiring Ighodaro’s services.

Should the move go through, Ighodaro will join Daniel Amokachi, Emmanuel Dennis, and David Okereke as Nigerian players who have donned the jersey of the 18-time Belgian Champions.

Ighodaro on the other hand, has set his sights on finishing strong with Supersport this season, as he’s having his best run of form since moving to South Africa three years ago.
