Kieran McKenna, the 38-year-old manager of Ipswich Town, is being considered as a potential successor to Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.

According to a report by Santi Aouna on FootMercato, talks have begun between United and McKenna’s representatives. McKenna’s prior experience with the club, along with his successful stint at Ipswich Town in the Championship, has placed him on the radar.

Having secured consecutive promotions with Ipswich Town, McKenna’s managerial prowess has earned him attention as the club prepares to return to the Premier League next season.

McKenna previously served as the U18 coach at Old Trafford in 2016 and later ascended to the role of assistant manager under Jose Mourinho before departing in 2018. He took over as Ipswich Town manager in December 2021.

However, the report also suggests that Gareth Southgate, the current England national team boss, remains the primary candidate for the Manchester United job. In addition to Southgate, McKenna, Graham Potter, Thomas Tuchel, and Robert De Zerbi have all been linked with the managerial position at United.
