Zaye Michael, one of the aggrieved Nigerians involved in the #EndBadGovernance protest in Abuja, has alleged that soldiers ambushed them on Friday when they attempted to march around the MKO Abiola National Stadium.

Naija News learned that Michael, the founder of the Passion for Positive Change Initiative, made the allegation when the protesters held a congress at the stadium on Saturday.

According to Punch, Micheal alleged that policemen and officers of the Department of State Services pulled back, allowing soldiers to ambush them, trapping them in multiple rounds of teargas canisters and forcing them to take cover in the bushes.

He also said that they remained in the bushes for nearly four hours while the military shot live rounds.

Police Denies Killing Of Six People During Protests In Niger

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Niger State, CP Shawulu Danmmaman, has refuted claims regarding fatalities associated with the #EndBadGovernance protests occurring in Suleja town, Niger State.

In a statement to the press from his office, CP Danmaman indicated that he had not received any information confirming deaths during the protests, which contradicts earlier reports from certain media outlets.

Nevertheless, he acknowledged that there were incidents of vandalism and property damage at the Tafa Local Government Area secretariat.

This declaration followed his recent visit to Suleja and Tafa Local Government Areas, where he evaluated the situation.

Naija News reports that the #EndBadGovernance protests have been taking place across the nation, with varying reports of violence, fatalities, and periods of calm emerging from different regions.
